Amit Bouri is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of the GIIN. His work in impact investing began when he was a strategy consultant with the Monitor Institute. At Monitor he was part of the team that produced the Investing for Social & Environmental Impact report, and he left Monitor to co-found the GIIN in 2009.
Amit’s other projects at the Monitor Institute included strategic planning and organizational development work for nonprofit organizations and foundations. Amit previously worked in the private sector as a strategy consultant with Bain & Company. He left Bain to work in global health at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. He also worked in the corporate philanthropy units of Gap Inc. and Johnson & Johnson.
Amit holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, an MPA from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, and a BA in Sociology and Anthropology from Swarthmore College.Amit is passionate about bringing together members of the financial community to address urgent social and environmental issues. Shami leads Actis’ approach to responsible investment and impact, working closely with investment colleagues and company management to assess and manage ESG issues, helping to build world-class businesses and to deliver measurable societal benefits.
Before joining Actis in 2014 she was as a senior consultant at PwC’s Sustainability and Climate Change team for ten years. Prior to this, Shami led the London business of Innovest Strategic Value Advisors, providing sustainability research and analytics to institutional investors and asset managers. Shami has also worked with the United Nations Development Programme in Central America.
Shami is a Steering Committee member of the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association’s Sustainability Working Group and co-Head of the SDG Working Group. During 2017, Shami was on the Sounding Board of the World Bank/IFC’s Operating Principles for Impact Management. Shami is an Advisory Board member of Africa Matters Ltd, an Africa-focused consultancy, a Trustee of Actis Acts, a registered charity focused on improving livelihoods in the emerging markets and she represents Actis at the Business Integrity Forum run by Transparency International UK.

Ira Ehrenpreis is Founder and Managing Partner of DBL Partners, a leading impact investing venture capital firm, currently investing out of a $400M fund.Ira is a recognized leader in the venture capital industry, having served on the Board, Executive Committee, and as Annual Meeting Chairman of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA). He currently serves as the President of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists (WAVC) and as the Chairman of the VCNetwork, the largest and most active California venture capital organization.
Ira was recently awarded the 2018 NACD Directorship 100 for being “one of the most influential leaders in the boardroom and corporate governance community.” In 2007, he was named one of the “Top 50 Most Influential Men Under 45" and in 2014 was inducted into the International Green Industry Hall of Fame. Ira has invested in a wide range of companies, including SpaceX, and serves on the board of Tesla Motors (NASDAQ: TSLA) and numerous other companies.
Ira has served for four years as the Chairman of the Silicon Valley Technology Innovation & Entrepreneurship Forum (SVIEF). He is the Founder and Chairman of one of the most prominent annual energy innovation industry events, the World Energy Innovation Forum (WEIF), which convenes the who's-who in the industry to discuss the important energy issues and opportunities of our time. Laura LaRosa is Glenmede’s Executive Director of Client Development. As an executive member of the Company’s Management Committee, she is responsible for setting the strategy and practices that guide the Company’s business development professionals. Ms. LaRosa and her team spearhead initiatives to broaden relationships with individuals, families, endowments and foundations.
Ms. LaRosa joined Glenmede in 1994 and has over 30 years of experience in fixed income trading, sales and client development, and she is a member of Glenmede’s Investment Policy Committee. Prior to her current role, Ms. LaRosa served as Director of Portfolio Management, overseeing a team of investment professionals responsible for managing $17 billion of assets for clients, and was previously Director of Fixed Income, managing over $7 billion in assets.
A frequent speaker on portfolio management, fixed income, impact and gender-lens investing and investment strategy, Ms. LaRosa was recognized as one of 2017’s 100 Corporate Women Leaders in STEM by STEMconnector.
Active in her community, Ms. LaRosa is a member of the Board of the Committee of Seventy, the Barnes Foundation’s Corporate Leadership Board, Friends of Rittenhouse Square, the Williamson College of the Trades, St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children as well as the Friends of the Avenue of the Arts.
